The battle of Evesham

I used to live in Evesham, UK. There was a significant battle fought there in 1265 between a rebel baron Simon de Montfort and prince Edward I (known as "longshanks" from Braveheart.) Simon de montfort lost, and that is him in red in the painting. This was displayed in a reenactment event in 2015 along with lots of other fun medieval stuff. The "treasure hunt map" above was also made as a contribution to the anniversary. You might be able to spot a flaw in the compass arrows. Nevermind. I am an artist, not a navigator...! The painting as I look at it is rather gaudy and could be better in terms of composition. Wouldn't mind having another go at it or another battle scene..
The painting was eventually sold for a token amount to Simon de Montfort school in Evesham, so that was an appropriate end to the story.
