A recent painting of the ducbill dinosaur gryposaurus. The coloring of the animal is conservative and even retro (reminds me of the Zallinger murals) but I'm sure there were many greyish species around. Im getting a little better at putting animals into a convincing landscape. I have been studying Jack Hamms "Drawing landscapes" - free at the Internet Archive - which has helped me a great deal with how to lead the eye and so on. This is acrylics and I used a "split complementary" palette of ultramarine blue, reddish orange and yellowish orange, plus black and white. An easy way to achieve color harmony.
