I can never seem to let go of dinosaurs and prehistoric creatures... This is not a commissioned work but made as a promotional and for my own practice. I am happy with the composition and the figures, although I do realize that the picture is full of clichès good and bad (the volcano, the easy to draw dry ground with scattered plants, etc.). I painted this with the three primaries and white, so I mixed black from those. I wanted to see how the colors would harmonize better this way. This palette also forces me to get away from the grayish brown colors I usually turn to. Maybe it is good to use a picture as an opportunity to learn a "technical" aspect like this. It is good fun any way. Australovenator lived in the early-mid Cretaceous, and the pterosaur is called Ferrodraco.
